Vocal Music
Pomona Jr/Sr High School offers four choral ensembles as part of our music academic curriculum and two ensembles, The Accidentals and Vocalise, as co-curricular ensembles outside the school day. These ensembles have participated in numerous competitions and won many awards.
Ensembles
Vocalise
Currently, Vocalise offers an opportunity for students with treble voices from each choir, as well as students who are not in choir class, to come together and sing music that focuses on their unique and rich vocal sound.
This choir does not meet as a regular class but as a co-curricular ensemble. Vocalise performs at the Jeffco Treble Choral Festival and all choir department concerts.
The Accidentals
The Accidentals offers an opportunity for students with changed voices from each choir, as well as students who are not in choir, to come together and sing music that focuses on their unique and rich vocal sound.
This choir does not meet as a regular class but as a co-curricular ensemble. The Accidentals perform at the Jeffco Tenor/Bass Choral Festival and all choir department concerts.
Leadership
Choir Council
Choir Council is the student leadership team for the choir department. Students in the Choir Council are student leaders in their respective classes and represent all choir students at council meetings.
Students must apply and be chosen by the director to serve on the council and membership is only through the current school year. The meeting schedule is decided at the beginning of each school year.
