You can also audition for school productions, the dates for which can be found on the home page. If auditions are not your thing, feel free to register for the Foundations of Theatre class... and we can MAKE auditions your thing! Or please sign up to work crew for the show. Roles and activities include: building sets, hanging lights, painting, using microphones, and more!

Sign up information for Crews and Auditions will be posted on the Theatre callboard located @ the entrance to the PAH hallway across from the water fountain @ the east end of the cafeteria.

• Prepare a 1-minute monologue  from a stage play (ask Ms. Hays if you would like suggestions or help)
• Callbacks will be the following day & Rehearsals start Thursday the 29th
• Show dates are October 24th -26th
• Information will be posted on the call board, in the classroom, the board outside the stage doors & the green room.                 
• Anyone that is 8th grade -12th grade is welcome to audition.

Are you a current student of Pomona School who wants to get started in the performing arts? PAH has open auditions every year for students wishing to become a member of the PAH family.

The Pomona Arts and Humanities Program (PAH) is an award-winning, arts-integrated program for students passionate about art and learning in Jefferson County Public Schools.

The Catwalk Theatre Company is proud to be part of PAH. As a special program within Pomona High School, PAH is open to students who seek an arts-integrated learning environment that engages the creative talents of young artists, their critical thinking abilities, and their ambitions for learning at the highest possible levels in a diverse environment.

In a student's primary area of artistic expression (theatre, instrumental music, vocal music, visual arts, writing, culinary arts) they will receive intensive instruction to increase their artistic achievement and develop a lifelong love of the arts. In specialized PAH English and Social Studies classes, teachers collaborate across curricular areas to produce creative, rigorous lessons in an arts context that broaden students' understanding of both academic content and their world.  In addition, there are connections to the arts community such as artists in residence and performances, exhibitions, and competitions at venues outside of Pomona. The program culminates with a senior capstone that showcases the amazing artistic talents and academic achievement of the PAH students.

R. Gavin Mayer Scholarship for Excellence in Theatre

The R. Gavin Mayer Scholarship for Excellence in Theatre was established in 2006 to provide financial assistance for students who demonstrate excellence in all aspects of the Pomona Performing Arts Program and graduate from Pomona High School. Two scholarships, valued at $500 each, are awarded each year. This is a Catwalk Theatre Guild scholarship. The directors will not review applications or be a part of the decision-making process.

Eligibility

• Applicant must have completed a minimum of two high school theatre credits and participated in a minimum of two Pomona High School theatre productions. 

• Applicant has been accepted to an accredited college, university, community college, or technical school by the time the award is payable. 

• The Scholarship Application Packet must be completed and submitted by the deadline. The packet consists of the following: the cover sheet, the questionnaire with answers on a separate sheet, and letter(s) of recommendation.

• The funds must be used within one year of the award date. 

Application Process

• At least one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or community person must be included with the Application Packet. 

• The Selection Committee will consist of five members who represent the Catwalk Theatre Guild: parents (other than those of senior students), faculty, and alumni.

• Should there be a need for more information, the Selection Committee may interview the finalists. 

• The recipients will be announced at the Choir/Theatre Awards Celebration to be held in May. Awards will be made to the appropriate school financial aid office. 

• Complete the Scholarship Application Packet. Place the title page, cover sheet, questionnaire with answers, and letter(s) of recommendation in a sealed envelope marked "To the attention of the Scholarship Selection Committee" and hand it to the Theatre Directors. The Directors will mark the date received in the presence of the applicant.

Deadline

• The Application Packet must be received by the second Friday of April. Late applications will not be considered.
