Attendance

The Pomona High School attendance line is 303-982-0604 and is available at all times.

When calling or leaving a message, please include the following:

  • Student’s first and last name (please spell the last name)
  • Student’s grade level
  • Who is calling with a contact number
  • Date and time frame of the absence
  • Reason for the absence

Please remember that it is the parent’s responsibility to excuse any and all absences within 24 hours, per Jeffco policies.

Early Release

All sixth- through 10th-graders who will be released early must be signed out by their parent, guardian or other member on the contact list in Infinite Campus to be excused for that time period. Please call the attendance line by 2:30 p.m. or 30 minutes before the release time for all early releases.

Student Illness While In Class

Any student who is not feeling well while in class should let their teacher know and visit the health clinic in the main office. Parents or guardians will be notified and the student will be released per early release practices through the attendance office. Students who do not follow this practice may not have the absence or early release excused.

Prearranged Absences

Prearranged absence forms for events that are known and will result in three or more days of consecutive absences can be picked up at the attendance office

Attendance Corrections

Students can pick up an attendance correction form at the attendance office. The form is filled out by the teacher and then given to the attendance secretary if a student or family believes they were marked incorrectly. Mistakes can happen.

Attendance in Jeffco

The importance of regular, daily school attendance as a basis for academic achievement cannot be overemphasized. Attendance is a shared responsibility of the student, the families and the school.

It is the family’s responsibility to ensure their student attends school and to notify the school when their student is absent for a legitimate reason, such as an illness or family emergency. Each family should also ensure their student’s school has their correct contact information so that the school is able to communicate about any attendance issues that may arise.
